As part of McKee Fehl’s passion for community-based projects, we are working with The Wellington City Mission to redevelop a disused wing of Kemp Home and Hospital, into a respite space that will managed by Spectrum Care.
This will be known as Alasdair Clark Respite, in memory of Maurice & Kaye Clark’s son.
We are so impressed by the level of thought and consideration that has gone into this project, to ensure that dignity and safety are at the forefront of every design decision.
This amazing new space comprises of;
6 bedrooms
2 accessible bathrooms
1 staff room suitable for day and night use
Open plan living space connected to the garden
Separate living space for children who require a quieter environment
Landscaped garden and new deck with shade sails, play matting, vegetable garden and hanging sensory chairs
Kemp Home and Hospital is run by Wellington City Mission, who offer outstanding support to our community, including elder care, assistance with food, housing, financial mentoring, access to social work support and advocacy.
By working closely with both Wellington City Mission and Spectrum Care, we can ensure that we create an environment that will suit the individual needs of each potential resident - where connection and support is complemented by a warm, safe and nurturing space.
