Our new feature staircase at Wellington Children's Hospital

Last week at the Wellington Children’s Hospital, we successfully lifted and bolted the trunk of our feature staircase lifted into place.

No ordinary staircase, this structure made from both steel and timber reaches 7.3m high, with 76 shaped branches and 25 steps curving around its trunk. You can see the tree rise from the foyer on the ground level, all the way up to Level 3!

With hanging pendant lights tucked into the curved fin branches, we are enjoying see the physical representation of the Studio Design + Architecture interior design vision coming together.

Our team can’t wait to see the timber stair flights arrive onsite from Craftbuilt Industries bringing us one step closer to bringing Te Wao Nui to life!
