The iconic Band Rotunda is a Wellington Waterfront landmark, originally designed as a bathing pavilion in 1938, with a restaurant addition competed in the 1980’s.
The building has been unoccupied since 2012, as it requires extensive strengthening & redevelopment works.
As a listed heritage building, McKee Fehl are delighted to be undertaking this project on behalf of Wellington City Council, that will see another unique heritage site regain its place within the urban landscape local community.
This exciting development will create a long-term, commercially viable site that will reactivate the link between the building and Oriental Parade, providing a destination for Wellingtonians and tourists.
Our in-house design team are working with the Wellington City Councils heritage team - to develop a design that retains the building’s heritage significance, whilst delivering a strengthened and revitalised fitout to attract a prominent hospitality vendor.
