Victoria University of Wellington
McKee Fehl is delighted to complete a $1m fitout for Victoria University of Wellington’s new teaching facilities at 40 Taranaki St.
Fast-tracked over the Christmas period, this state-of-the-art education and learning hub was delivered under budget and ahead of schedule to meet the 2019 academic term start.
The McKee Fehl team worked hard to transform Level 2 and Level 3 into a welcoming educational hub for students in the Master of Software Development, Media Innovation Centre and the School of Information Management entities.
The 1,600m2 learning space features a modern and sophisticated open plan design complete with high tech educational facilities, separate breakout spaces and meeting rooms. New kitchenette, recreational areas and upgraded toilets were also installed to maximise student comfort.
This refurbishment follows recent seismic strengthening undertaken across the entire building.
With all hands-on deck, the team worked closely with Victoria University of Wellington to ensure an integrated and seamless approach. To meet tight project timeframes, the project demanded a unique health and safety and logistics management approach as well as a strict adherence to programme deliverables.
McKee Fehl is proud to add this project to a number of successful redevelopments completed for The Victoria University of Wellington. This includes four student accommodation buildings and various upgrade and conversion projects dating back to Seismic Works for The Rankine Brown Building.
